Concert Band Director Nick Ezzone and his assistant Marlene Turner will lead the Band in a variety of selections, many of which are “encore performances” of selections from concerts during the Band’s 25 years of performances. Marches included are Karl King’s “Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite,” a circus march, Johann Straus’s “Radetzky March,” and John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever.” Gusav Holst’s “Second Suite in F for Military Band” and medleys of Hoagy Carmichael and Walt Disney movie favorites will also be presented.
The Big Band, led by Gary Keller, will add traditional big-band vocals and instrumentals to the afternoon’s performance.
Summer performances of the Concert Band are scheduled in Tiffin, Sandusky, Fremont, Marblehead, and Kelleys Island. This is the final series of concerts for Nick Ezzone, who announced that he will resign. His last concert will be in August at Kelleys Island. He has led the North Coast Concert Band since early 1990.
